This recorded Navigate training session covers the Opportunities module, from creating and promoting opportunities to managing applications.

What this session covers

  • Creating an opportunity in the Opportunities module and completing the Opportunity Overview details.
  • Restricting an opportunity to selected students using an audience list.
  • Promoting a live opportunity to students by email.
  • Tracking and managing applications, then approving, rejecting or converting them.
  • How students view and apply for opportunities on the student site.

Create and promote an opportunity

  1. Open the Opportunities module and click Add an opportunity.
  2. On the Opportunity Overview tab, add the name, status, type, activity, spaces, category and owner. Set whether it is restricted, whether it needs an application form, and the acceptance and rejection email templates, publication and expiry dates, employer and dates.
  3. On Student application questions, select the application form and choose who can approve. On Student advert, add a headline, text, skills and any link, then preview the advert.
  4. If restricted, go to Audience selection, click Create Audience List, and add learners individually or by student group.
  5. Change the status from draft to live, click Add New Email, complete the promotional email and audience list, preview it, then Send Email.

Manage applications

  1. Use the four homepage panels to see applications to review, successful applications to process, opportunities needing attention, and opportunities by status.
  2. Open an application, review any form answers, then approve or reject and add feedback where needed.
  3. For approved applications, click Add Activity or Create Placement to convert the opportunity.
