This recorded Navigate training session covers the Employers module, from building your employer database to managing compliance.
What this session covers
- Creating a new employer record in the Employers module and searching before adding to avoid duplicates.
- Adding, archiving and un-archiving contacts so placement emails reach the right people.

Create an employer and add contacts
- Open the Employers module and use Search for an employer, trying every spelling variation, before choosing Add an employer.
- Complete the form, including the compulsory Post code and Business type, set the Status to active, target or inactive, then Save.
- Click Add Contact and fill in the details. You can add several contacts and use Archive to remove anyone who has left.
Manage compliance
- Once a placement is added, use the Employer tab to Send the due diligence form, or Edit to fill it in yourself.
- Record the insurance details, especially the expiry date, risk rating and the yes or no policy questions, then submit.
- Back on the employer record, mark the employer as compliant, entering the approval and expiry dates and any compliance notes.
Find new employers
- Select New employer search tool and start it.
- Enter a postcode, a radius and a sector to pull matching employers from Companies House.
- Click More, then View employer details, and use Add new employer record to bring them into your database.
