This recorded Navigate training session covers the Employers module, from building your employer database to managing compliance.

What this session covers

  • Creating a new employer record in the Employers module and searching before adding to avoid duplicates.
  • Adding, archiving and un-archiving contacts so placement emails reach the right people.
  • Managing compliance with the due diligence form and marking employers as compliant.
  • Tracking employers through the module panels for placements, compliance and status.
  • Finding new employers with the employer search tool linked to Companies House.

Create an employer and add contacts

  1. Open the Employers module and use Search for an employer, trying every spelling variation, before choosing Add an employer.
  2. Complete the form, including the compulsory Post code and Business type, set the Status to active, target or inactive, then Save.
  3. Click Add Contact and fill in the details. You can add several contacts and use Archive to remove anyone who has left.

Manage compliance

  1. Once a placement is added, use the Employer tab to Send the due diligence form, or Edit to fill it in yourself.
  2. Record the insurance details, especially the expiry date, risk rating and the yes or no policy questions, then submit.
  3. Back on the employer record, mark the employer as compliant, entering the approval and expiry dates and any compliance notes.

Find new employers

  1. Select New employer search tool and start it.
  2. Enter a postcode, a radius and a sector to pull matching employers from Companies House.
  3. Click More, then View employer details, and use Add new employer record to bring them into your database.
